Welcome to Community Revival

Since our establishment in 2006, our vision has been to actively help people achieve a better quality of life. Our sole goal is to serve the community through the quality of support we have been renowned for. We aim to motivate and mobilise individuals to achieve their social and work-related goals. We also know that through this notion, we can have a positive effect on the local economy.

In addition to our free classes, we deliver English language courses in Chorlton, Manchester as well as Sheffield. Our private English language classes in Manchester and Sheffield are accredited by the British Council.

Community Revival (UK) is a not-for-profit voluntary organisation, limited-by-guarantee. As our name implies, we exist to refresh and revitalise the local community with a range of projects including, training, education, employment, recreation and social activities. Most of our beneficiaries are from the BME community with the majority being women, however Community Revival engages with all sections of society irrespective of background. Over 2000 students have completed English courses with us, improving their confidence, self-esteem and employment opportunities. We also promote social activities to improve social cohesion.

The board comprises of Shabaz Ahmed (Head of Centre), Abid Satwilkar (Head of Learning), Nazila Ahmed (Centre Co-ordinator), Roukayatou Laleye (Accounts & Admin), and Humara Satwilkar (Non- Executive)

In addition, we recruit international students to study at our centre in Manchester as well as to other prestigious UK Universities and Colleges.

We provide Skills for Employment courses funded by The Growth Company including ESOL, Functional Skills and a range of Vocational courses.

We offer volunteering for unemployed individuals to help them get work experience in:

Office Work, Quality Management, Administration, Marketing, Social Media, Receptionist duties etc.

Over 75% of our volunteers have moved into jobs and the nearly all the others have progressed to other courses.

Due to COVID-19 people can send their CV to work remotely – volunteering.

We assess our business needs to partner with other organisation which share our community ethos

We network with VCS organisations to share and work in a collaborative manner

We attend meetings and seminars to be updated on current situations, to join forums and networks to ultimately benefit our students and community.

We work in partnership for the betterment of BME communities to improve their personal, social and economic situations (proposing for grants and funding where applicable).
