The courses are designed for learners:
- aged 19 and above,
- who are working in a company of 250 people or less,
- the company is based in Greater Manchester (even if it’s registered in a different area).

NCFE’s Occupational Studies qualifications are tailored to give learners an introduction to Retail and Service Enterprise careers, offering a taster of particular occupational areas.
The Occupational Studies suite is intended to be accessible to all learners of all abilities with the core aim to give learners a platform upon which to further develop their skills and learning, helping to provide the building blocks towards Apprenticeships.
In some Level, you can achieve Award or Certificate qualification, but some Levels have only credits enough for Award qualification. To gain Award qualification the student must complete Units with sums of 6 credits. For the Certificate the student can upgrade the Award with more Units, the sums of Units should be 13 or more credits.

|Understanding the business of retail||1|
|Understanding customer service in the retail sector||2|
|Understanding the retail selling process||2|
Level 2 Units of Study:
|Cash up in a retail environment||2|
|Keep stock on sale at required levels in a retail environment||3|
|Understanding security and loss prevention in a retail business||2|
|Process customer orders for goods in a retail environment||3|
